Computers and wifi

You can use self-serve computers at the Library, enjoy free wifi, get online to do research, or access our microfilm and microfiche readers/printers to view the Border Mail's microfilm archive.

You can access the internet and use Office-based software on the self-serve computers available to the public at both our library branches.

Software and hardware

All computers are PC-based and use Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2016 and the latest internet browsers including Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome. We also have a Kidspace computers with filtering software for children.

All files need to be saved to a USB stick.

Scanning facilities are available at each library branch. You will need a USB stick to save your scan. Scanning is free of charge.

Microfilm and microfiche readers/printers are available with access to the Border Mail's microfilm archive.

Free wifi

Bring your own battery-powered laptop or other mobile device and connect to the free wireless (wifi) internet service at both our libraries.

Come together at the library

Borrow from our collections of books, DVDs, e-books and magazines; browse the internet on our computers, access free wifi, attend exciting exhibitions and programs, and meet up with friends for a coffee at Retro Lane Café.
