Rates and charges explained
Understanding how Council rates are calculated can help you better understand your annual rates notice and how your contribution supports local services.
Council rates are calculated using your property's land value, your property's rating category and the rates adopted each year in Council's Revenue Policy.
Your property's land value is determined independently by the NSW Valuer General, not by AlburyCity. An increase in land value doesn't necessarily mean your rates will increase by the same percentage.
