Choosing the right development advice
We offer three levels of development information. Choose the service that best matches the scale and complexity of your proposal.
Use this service for general information about:
- zoning and minimum subdivision lot sizes
- flooding, bushfire and other property constraints
- relevant planning controls
- exempt development requirements
Use this service for more specific advice about:
- pools, sheds, patios, carports and garages
- new homes and secondary dwellings
- alterations and additions
- changing how a building or premises is used
- subdivisions of up to 10 lots
Request formal advice for proposals such as:
- commercial and industrial development
- residential flat buildings, shop-top housing and multi-dwelling housing
- childcare centres and seniors housing
- subdivisions of more than 10 lots
- designated or integrated development
- proposals involving significant environmental, heritage, bushfire, flooding or biodiversity constraints
- proposals with significant variations from planning controls
