Sport and recreation

We are committed to working with sporting clubs and active recreation groups to build a community of healthy and active residents with access to quality facilities and activities run by skilled and capable people.

We recognise the important role that community sport and recreation organisations play in enabling our residents to participate in their chosen sport or recreation activity. One of the keys to developing a strong community organisation is to have an eye on the future as well as on the present. We will work with sport and recreation organisations in developing long terms plans. This helps ensure that the organisation and the activity can continue to improve over time and provide a better experience for participants.

Sports ground use and bookings

Organisations that want to make either a casual (less than 5 sessions) or seasonal (winter or summer season) sports ground booking, need to complete the below online form:

Make a sports ground booking request

The Conditions for use of sporting facilities provides information, rules and prohibitions for organisations making use of sporting facilities. These conditions must be agreed to at the time of requesting a booking and will remain the conditions upon the subsequent booking permit issued.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the life-blood of community organisations and are a key driver for enabling our community to participate in sport and recreation activities. Community organisations are encouraged to foster an environment where volunteers are respected, treated with fairness and dignity.
