Stuart was born and raised in Albury.
He is a Director of Baker Motors, a 4th generation family business which was established by his grandfather in 1946.
This is Stuart’s 2nd stint on council having served Albury City as a Councillor from 1999 until 2008, in his final year he was mayor.
The Winter Solstice event held annually in Albury’s QE2 Square on 21 June was founded by Stuart and his wife Annette.
His passion is mental health, and he wholeheartedly supports both climate and recreational initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
Stuart is chairperson of the Albury Wodonga Headspace Consortium, and on the board of Australians for Mental Health.
