Kids cook up a storm as ovens open

Friday 13 November 2020
Our community will be fired-up to create some tasty treats, when Albury’s brand new wood-fired ovens at Hovell Tree Park are opened.

The new ovens are complemented by shelters, seating, mains power, a drinking fountain and a small garden. A grill has also been added to provide enhanced cooking opportunities for the community.

To launch the new ovens, students from St Patrick’s Parish School will enjoy a pizza feast on site this week.

COVID-safe regulations will be in place.

The inaugural cook-up will be followed by a series of baking days, where the community will be invited to bring along food to cook with that unique wood-fired flavour. The dates and times will be confirmed soon.

More information about the redevelopment of the ovens is available here.

The works are part of the wider Riverside Precinct project, which will see a transformation of sections of the Murray River bank to open up new recreational and tourism opportunities for the community.
