Dean Street Parklet Trial

We're excited to trial a special new place in the heart of our CBD - inspiring our community to utilise the space, and help further activate our city.

We are currently considering the results of the trial and a decision will be made by Council on the next steps for the project in February 2023.

Albury's first parklet in Dean Street with installation began late June, and completed in July 2022.

Based on business support garnered through the consultation process, research, access to utility infrastructure and pedestrian volumes, AlburyCity Councillors endorsed a trial at 465 Dean Street on 26 July 2021. The parklet will span the four car parks on the south eastern side of Dean Street (in front of Hapi and Zen X).

The majority of construction is happening offsite and will be pieced together onsite while adhering to the Dean Street curfew conditions.

We thank Albury Business Connect for their contribution to the project so far, with extensive research and consultation undertaken in early 2021 to inform their recommendation for parklets.

We are busy programming activation of the Parklet so that we can inspire people to utilise the space, activating the streets, increasing dwell times, and enhancing vibrancy.

As a trial installation, we will be actively seeking feedback from business owners, residents, and visitors about the Parklet. A short online survey will be available online after installation and our Economic Development team will be available to take questions at any stage.
