Commencement of Amendment to Albury Development Control Plan 2010 – Part 17: Access and Parking

We’ve undertaken a review of Part 17 of the Albury Development Control Plan 2010 for access and parking in new developments. On Monday 25 November 2024, Council endorsed the changes to these planning controls.

Summary of changes

• Providing greater alignment with minimum parking rates in state policies and comparative regional areas;
• Consolidating uses and rates in the table in accordance with standard land use definitions;
• Supporting urban centre and vibrant streets through promoting active frontages and removing barriers for establishing small food and drink and retail businesses in Albury and Lavington urban centres;
• Focusing on improved access for pedestrians and vehicles (this includes adding ‘Access’ to naming of Part 17);
• Refining the rates and design guidelines relating to bicycles (including e-Bikes), disability permit parking, car share, electric vehicle (EV), service and loading parking facilities and landscaping within developments; and
• Providing greater guidance on what is required to be provided in a development application to Council.
