Federal Government commits to Regional Deal

We’re delighted that the Australian Government has committed $80 million to the Albury Wodonga Cross Border Regional Deal, which will allow for a range of important community projects to progress.

The opportunities through the Regional Deal wouldn’t have been possible without the Two Cities One Community partnership.

AlburyCity and City of Wodonga have worked extremely hard in developing the partnership, working more closely together to achieve community aspirations and ambitions, deliver value for money and to adopt a regional perspective.

The partnership has already achieved a number of successful outcomes for our community, including the Invest, Visit and Live Albury Wodonga platforms, which are focused on attracting relocators, investors and visitors to our region.

A valuable tool developed by the team is the Grant Guru, which enables business and community groups to search local, state and federal grant opportunities, all in the one place.

The Albury Wodonga Community Guide is another great tool for residents to search for contact details and locations for a wide range of organisations, groups and clubs in our region.

The team has also been working hard on a number of strategies, including the Regional Economic Development Strategy, the Regional Natural Environment Strategy, and the Smart Communities Strategy and Framework. These strategies are accompanied by Action Plans that will help us meet our vision in each area.

We’re extremely proud of the work that’s been done so far, and can’t wait to see what the Two Cities One Community partnership delivers into the future.

You can find out more about these projects on the Two Cities One Community website.
