Albury to come alive with music, art and street performance

Tuesday 24 June 2025

AlburyCity is proud to present Busk on the Border - a new event celebrating the creativity, culture and energy of our region.

Taking place in the heart of the city on Saturday 28 June, this free event will transform QEII Square and Dean Street into a lively performance precinct, showcasing an impressive line-up of local musicians, entertainers and street performers.

Performances will run from 10am to 3pm on the main stage at QEII Square and across pop-up locations in the CBD.

Designed to celebrate the diversity of local talent, Busk on the Border invites residents and visitors to enjoy a curated program of live entertainment in a family-friendly, open-air setting.

Event highlights include:

  • A dynamic mix of 30-minute performances by emerging and established artists
  • Main stage shows in QEII Square, plus roving and pop-up performances along Dean Street
  • A vibrant makers’ market with artisan stalls and handmade goods
  • Albury CBD’s Shop-a-Local Jackpot prize draw, announced live on stage

AlburyCity Team Leader Events Aaron Bykerk said the event was designed to connect the community through shared cultural experiences and highlight the CBD offerings.

Busk on the Border is about celebrating the creativity that thrives in our region. It’s a chance to enjoy live performance in an informal setting and support local artists doing what they love,” Mr Bykerk said.

“We’re thrilled to have 20 performers involved in more than 40 sessions - aged from just 11 years old through to seasoned professionals.”

The event also supports local businesses by encouraging foot traffic in the CBD and drawing attention to independent traders and makers.

“This is an invitation to rediscover the city in a new way - to follow the sound of music along Dean Street, explore the diverse offerings throughout the CBD, and to experience the city centre as a place full of creative energy.”

Busk on the Border is free to attend and suitable for all ages. For more information, visit AlburyCity’s website.
