AEC Team Leader, Brendan Maher, says Wayfinder is an outstanding way to kick off what promises to be an amazing 12 months of theatre at the iconic venue.
“We’re really excited about what’s in store for the 2024 season, and this show just sets us off on the right foot with its incredible colour, movement and artistic flair,” he says.

Wayfinder is directed by Amber Haines and Kyle Page and features acclaimed Queensland dance troupe Dancenorth Australia and three-time Grammy-nominated Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote.
The show also features sound artist Byron J. Scullin, who helps to create “a soaring composition evoking pleasure and possibility”.
“Speaking to our sensorial nature, Wayfinder reminds us of a state of being that transcends the words that have come to define us,” the blurb says.
“Navigating bigger and more ancient reference points, Wayfinder recognises connection as the central axis of the universe. By the stars, the waves, and the sun, we find our way.”
Wayfinder opens at 7.30 pm this Friday, 16 February at the Albury Entertainment Centre. Full price tickets are $55.00, concession $52.00 and youth (under 25) $25.00. There are also discounts for group bookings of six or more.

Wayfinder begins an extraordinary 2024 theatre season that also includes:
- Piaf & Aznavour Back in Time, a journey into the fascinating world of French popular music, told through the songs of Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour – Sunday 17 March.
- Beauty and the Beast, one of the world’s most loved fairy tales, retold by the Victorian State Ballet – 2 & 3 August.
- An Evening with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, performing the music of Beethoven and Mendelssohn – Thursday 24 October.
“It’s going to be a huge 12 months of amazing theatre to help us celebrate 60 years of the arts,” Mr Maher said.
