Celebrating 50 years of rock in pictures at the Albury LibraryMuseum

Thursday 26 October 2023

A new photographic exhibition at the Albury LibraryMuseum titled On Stage: 50 Years of Rock in Pictures celebrates rock and pop performers from the early 1970s to the present.

Photographers Ian Hood and Paul Temple met in high school in 1966 in the south-east of Melbourne. They had shared interests in music and photography and became good friends, later photographing concerts they attended as patrons in Melbourne, North East Victoria and Albury.

The exhibition includes over 50 of their photographs, featuring artists from The Rolling Stones to Pink. It also includes mixed media and mementos, and charts the development of concert (gig) photography and the move from film to digital.

The exhibition will be on display at the Albury LibraryMuseum from Saturday 28 October to Sunday 3 March 2024.

There will be an official opening night on Friday 27 October from 5.30pm, as well as an exhibition tour led by photographer Paul Temple on Saturday 28 October from 11am.
