Celebrate these long warm days at Summer Nights

Tuesday 21 February 2023

AlburyCity is bringing their annual free family-friendly Summer Nights events back to QEII Square this February and March.

Summer Nights will kick off on Friday 24 February from 4.30pm - 8.30pm, with a host of dance and vocal performances for all ages.

Live Long & Sparkle is a family-friendly dance party for small humans and their grown-ups. Join in with our enthusiastic dance duo, as they guide your crew, through a half-hour of bopping beats, which will have everyone up and dancing!

Legendary underground institution, Checkerboard Lounge, will deliver a dynamic, soulful well of emotion and playful abandon in collective improvisation over classic blues, soul and originals. Singing drummer Carl Pannuzzo, guitar master Shannon Bourne, Hammond virtuoso Tim Neal and uber-musical bassist, Zoe Frater curate shows fitting to events and venues, no two shows being the same, but each unforgettable live experiences, from standing ovations at Wangaratta Jazz Festival to crammed inner Melbourne pubs.

Fronted by 4-time ARIA award winner Nicky Bomba, Australia’s premier Calypso Reggae ensemble BUSTAMENTO will bring their special Caribbean flavour, good vibes, horn section, steel pans and dancing for all. Did someone say Hawaiian shirts? Boomshakalaka!

On Friday 24 March, the square will feature an outdoor screening of G-rated Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Watch the story of a poor but hopeful boy who seeks one of the five coveted golden tickets that will send him on a tour of Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory.

A great selection of food and beverages will be available to snack on while you enjoy the fun!

No bookings required. Visit the AlburyCity website for more information.

These events are proudly supported by the NSW Government through the Regional Growth Fund.
