Sarvaas Park Sports Pavilion

The modification of the existing amenities building and construction of a new building that meets the participation demands and sporting club needs.

About this project

The existing amenities building consists of two change rooms, a canteen and public toilets. With the increase in female participation, the Albury Thunder Junior Rugby League Football Club (ATJRLFC) identified the need for additional separate change rooms and a referees’ room. Additionally, the requirement for a community room, a new canteen and storage room have been highlighted.

The existing facilities have met the needs of the user groups in the past and will require partial demolition and refurbishment as part of this project, while a new building is to be constructed to address the shortfall of amenities.

The scope of the works includes:

  • Demolition and refurbishment of the public toilets and canteen in the existing building to provide upgraded facilities, including new public toilets with a designated disabled toilet facing the sports ground. The alterations will also include provision for a referee change room and associated facilities consisting of two separate gender-neutral referee toilet and shower rooms.
  • A new awning that will extend along the northern side of the existing and the proposed building.
  • The new amenities building comprising of two change rooms, game day office, a community room, canteen, food store, bin store and mechanical plant room.
  • Demolition of the existing toilets on the north side of the sports fields on Kestrel Street.

Contributions to the project include:

  • $250,000 – Australian Government Election Commitment – redevelopment of the women’s change rooms at the Albury Thunder Rugby League Club grounds at Sarvaas Park; and
