Lavington CBD Activation Trial

We are trialling a public space in the heart of Lavington CBD to provide the community with a place to connect, gather, play and relax.

Lavington CBD Activation Trial

We’re thrilled to announce that AlburyCity has received $150,000 under Transport for NSW’s Places to Love program! This exciting project will transform part of the Council-owned car park at 332 Griffith Rd into a public space, helping improve vibrancy, amenity and liveability.

From October 2024 to March 2025, we'll be testing new features in Lavington CBD, including:

  • Temporary seating and greenery
  • Creative pavement artwork and enhanced lighting
  • Community events like markets, live music, and pop-up retailers.

We’ll gather your feedback during the trial and, at the end, we’ll plan for the future based on what the community loved most.

About the Places to Love Program

Transport for NSW’s Places to Love program collaborates with a number of pilot councils on demonstration projects that trial improving walkable access to, and the quality of, local public space in transport hub precincts. The program trials temporary changes that can inform and guide future interventions to public space. The demonstration projects are a way to quickly test how to make public spaces more vibrant and active using trials, pop-ups and semi-permanent changes to test ideas and build the case for longer-term change.
