Watch the CBCA's special awards announcement
Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. In 2020, CBCA Book Week will be held in mid October with the theme ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’.
Using Gwyn Perkins' quirky and colourful 2020 CBCA Book Week theme artwork, CBCA created a free colouring poster to download, print and colour. You'll notice that there are a few of Gwyn's 'Curious Creatures' missing from the poster. This is to allow children to add their own.
Gwyn Perkins shares his tips for drawing wild and curious creatures.

Gwyn Perkins has created this fun interactive bookmark activity. Simply print the following sheets (we recommend printing on a slightly heavier stock than regular printer paper) and follow the instructions to create four quirky bookmarks.
Every year the CBCA hosts the Book of the Year Awards for Australian children's books published over the past year. The judges select books for the notable list, shortlist and winners, across six categories
