Due to the uncertainty of the situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID19), Albury Gold Cup planned for Friday 20 March 2020 has been cancelled.
The Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Carnival is firmly established as one of the premier country racing carnivals in Australia. Helped by a half-day holiday in Albury that has seen the attendances consistently exceed 18,000 people.
A five-time winner of the prestigious Racing NSW award for the 'Most Popular Country Feature Racemeeting', the Albury Gold Cup is widely recognised as an iconic event. The Gold Cup Carnival offers $675,800 in prize money, trophies and bonuses on offer over two days, with the feature race being the $170,000 Listed Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup (2000m).
Hospitality marquees along the length of the straight and in the centre of the course cater for the thousands who flock to Albury to enjoy the party atmosphere throughout the racecourse and beyond.
