Exempt tree species

The following species do not require a Vegetation Removal Permit from Council, except if they are located within a Heritage Conservation area or are an identified heritage item.

Many of these species are considered to be undesirable species and are not recommended to be planted in the Albury LGA. This list also contains several identified Priority Weeds under the Biosecurity Act 2015. Under the Biosecurity Act, all plants are regulated with a general biosecurity duty to prevent, eliminate or minimise any biosecurity risk they may pose. Any person who deals with any plant, who knows (or ought to know) of any biosecurity risk, has a duty to ensure the risk is prevented, eliminated or minimised, so far as is reasonably practicable.
