Council manages 559kms of roads and associated infrastructure across the city with the NSW Government and Transport for NSW responsible for major arterial links and state-classified roads like freeways, state highways and important main roads.
Population growth and expanding development, particularly in the Thurgoona Wirlinga growth corridor, brings new challenges in managing traffic flow, particularly during peak times.
We are undertaking a range of capital works and advocacy initiatives to improve access to transport networks, reduce travel times, enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow. This includes several projects that will ultimately support growth through delivery of critical, backbone infrastructure to enable the development of AlburyCity’s principal residential growth area.
Explore the map below to understand the difference in local and state roads as well as the various projects and initiatives planned and under way in this area.
