This unusual word refers to a popular 19th-century landscape design style that heavily influenced the layout of Victoria and NSW’s earliest public and botanic gardens – including the Albury Botanic Gardens.


This talk will take you through a whirlwind history of Australian garden design in the 19th-century, and especially the craze which resulted in possibly the largest collection of regional botanic gardens in the world, as well as the new brand of Albury’s feature flower and garden festival.
