The Business & Professional Women’s Club of Albury was formed in 1953 and closed in 2008. It was part of Business & Professional Women Australia, a national group affiliated with the international movement, which began in the USA in 1919. Its goals included supporting and promoting personal development, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, and lobbying for issues affecting women. BPW Australia’s achievements include working towards equal pay, parental leave, and anti-discrimination measures.
This thought-provoking exhibition charts the history and achievements of the BPW Club of Albury and investigates the legacy that BPW has left behind.
