This exhibition explores the heart of the DSI plant through the people that worked there.
Officially opened on 8 October 1971, the Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) transmission plant (also known as Borg-Warner, BTR, ION Ltd and Geely Automotive Holdings) provided work for generations of local families and unprecedented opportunities for women and apprentices. It supported local sports teams and community fundraising efforts. Employees recall an active social club, good conditions and great friendships.
This exhibition explores the heart of the plant through the people that worked there. You might just see yourself on display!
