This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Albury Amateur Swimming Club.
Albury’s close proximity to the Murray River meant that residents quickly realised the need for safety around water. The purpose of the Albury Swimming Club has been to help prevent drownings through lifesaving and swimming lessons, to boost public interest in aquatic sport and to provide organised competition in the area.
The club’s aquatic activities and special events have always been a great source of fun and entertainment throughout the decades.
This exhibition features images, trophies and other memorabilia highlighting the achievements of the club and its members.
