Hear Their Story: Create an audio life story

Join Dimity Brassil, owner of A Lasting Tale, for a hands on workshop that provides the skill and knowledge in planning and recording your own life story.

Share memories to be enjoyed by families and friends for many years to come.

This two-hour workshop shows you how to create a high-quality audio recording on your smartphone or laptop, how to conduct an effective personal history interview, and how to ask thoughtful questions that result in a memorable life story recording.

At the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  1. Create an audio life story recording / personal history podcast using your smartphone or laptop.
  2. Ask probing and meaningful questions to capture a successful personal life story interview and create an engaging narrative.
  3. Confidently prepare, record and create an audio recording capturing a personal life story.

Participants please bring along:

  • Your audio recording device; a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop.
  • Headphones and/or external microphones (optional/only if you have them). A range of headphones and
    microphones will be supplied.
  • Thoughts about your interview subject, your why, and the stories you want to collect.
