The Albury Animal Care Centre houses dogs, cats and livestock that have been found stray or abandoned or have been seized. If animals cannot be returned to their owners, the centre seeks new homes for them.
The Albury Animal Care Centre (AACC), formerly known as the Albury Animal Management Facility, has been in operation at its current Mudge Street site since 1998. It provides animal care services to Albury, Wodonga, Indigo, Towong, Wangarratta and Greater Hume local government areas.
We promote the responsible ownership of pets and companion animals as they are an integral part of our community, culture and society.
Owning a pet is a privilege that comes with a range of responsibilities towards the animals, the community and the environment. We encourage all pet owners to care for their animals in a socially responsible manner with their best welfare in mind.
We aim to provide the very best care to lost and abandoned animals that come to us for whatever reason. Pet cats and dogs are required by law to be microchipped and registered. It is important that you make sure your contact details are up to date and correct. Our team can scan your animal and update your details on the NSW Companion Animal Registry free of charge.

The Albury Animal Care Centre is currently undergoing redevelopment. Our new facility aims to better meet the needs of our community and the animals. This development is projected to be completed in 2027 and aims to:
- Meet existing and future demands of AlburyCity and its regional partners
- Continue to meet high standards of animal care and welfare
- Facilitate greater community engagement and education opportunities
- Improve customer service experience

- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
