WinterGlow returns to light up Albury on Saturday 15 August
Winter is here — and it’s going to glow. WinterGlow returns to Albury on Saturday 15 August, transforming the CBD into a vibrant winter playground filled with music, light, art and entertainment.
The event is proudly supported by Transport for NSW through a $350,000 grant (over three years), and AlburyCity thanks the NSW Government for helping bring this free community event to life.
The family-friendly event will run from 6pm to 10pm across QEII Square, Dean Street and, for the first time, Kiewa Street and AMP Lane, with an expanded market precinct bringing even more energy to the city centre.
Minister for Transport John Graham said: “Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. As this event highlights, we can use our streets to bring communities together and drive revenue for local businesses.
“Through the Open Streets program, the Minns Labor Government is making it easier for councils across NSW to activate their streets, cutting red tape and supporting local events like WinterGlow.”
Visitors can expect glowing light installations, interactive workshops, roving performers, street food, late-night market shopping and a packed live music line-up.
2025 Australian Idol finalist John Van Beek will host the evening, while international DJ sensation Tigerlily headlines the main stage with a high-energy performance.
Also performing throughout the night:
- Local band Buzzkill will kick things off with loud guitars, nostalgic anthems and crowd singalongs inspired by late ’90s and 2000s alternative rock.
- International vocalist, producer and DJ Alex Hosking will bring festival favourites and dancefloor hits to the WinterGlow stage.
Mayor Kevin Mack said WinterGlow had quickly become one of Albury’s most anticipated community events.
“WinterGlow is fully funded by Transport for New South Wales, which provides us with a wonderful opportunity to provide a free event. It's a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the energy of our CBD in a completely different way,” Mayor Mack said.
“The event brings together live music, art, food, local business and community spirit, creating a night that is vibrant, welcoming and uniquely Albury.
“There’s something for all ages, and with the event expanding this year, we’re excited to see even more people enjoying everything our city has to offer.”
Across the precinct, visitors can explore a range of entertainment and activities, including:
- Roving performances from Fruit Fly Circus graduates, McCabe Circus fire performers and stilt walkers.
- Catch local musician Luke Dewing perform in Volt Lane.
- Interactive activations including a Silent Disco, light installations, Pumphouse Artist stalls, face painting and tarot card readings.
- New for 2026 — a giant snow globe, winter maze and a live mural painting to be unveiled on the night.
- Hands-on creative workshops with artist Elise Higginson, Canvas & Friends and Silly Goose Studio.
- Night markets featuring local makers, artisan goods and handmade products under glowing winter lights.
- Street food, warm winter treats and local flavours from vendors and eateries across the CBD.
- Late-night market shopping and special WinterGlow offers from participating Albury CBD businesses.
WinterGlow is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW.
