Music in the Gardens returns with rising indie-folk artist Flynn Gurry
AlburyCity, together with sponsors Johnsons MME and Murray Conservatorium, are proud to present Music in the Gardens from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday 13 September.
Albury’s popular free outdoor music series returns to the Albury Botanic Gardens with an afternoon of live music from rising indie-folk artist Flynn Gurry. Flynn will be bringing his sparkling acoustic guitar work, honeyed vocals and folk-inspired sound to the beautiful Creek Lawns.
Hailing from Warrnambool, Victoria, Flynn Gurry has quickly made a name for himself, catapulting from busking on the streets of Melbourne to performing alongside artists including Ian Moss, King Stingray, Ash Grunwald and Kim Churchill.
His growing list of achievements includes winning triple j Unearthed’s One Night Stand Competition in 2024, which saw him perform alongside G Flip, Ruel, What So Not and many more in his hometown of Warrnambool.
Flynn has since ticked off being a triple j Unearthed feature artist, supported The Dreggs and Pierce Brothers, appeared onstage at the likes of Beyond The Valley Festival, Port Fairy Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and BIGSOUND, signed with Cult Artists and Woolstore Music, and inked a deal with ABC Records in 2025.
Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said Music in the Gardens is a great way to enjoy live music while making the most of the city’s beautiful outdoor spaces.
“Spring is the perfect time to get outside, soak up the sunshine and enjoy some live music in one of Albury’s most picturesque settings,” Mayor Mack said.
“Grab a picnic rug or camping chair and join us in the Botanic Gardens for an afternoon of great music, good food, and the chance to see one of Australia’s rising stars up close.”
Visitors can grab a bite to eat or something to drink while they enjoy the music, with food and beverages available from Rotary, Redhead and Chef, Monumental Ice Cream and Cloud 9.
Music in the Gardens will return for another spring series event in November, with details to be announced closer to the date.
