Applications are now open for local performers to take centre stage at AlburyCity's 2026 Carols by Candlelight.

Singers, dancers and performers of all ages are invited to audition for one of the city's favourite Christmas traditions, with auditions to be held on Saturday 19 September at Council’s Kiewa Street office.

Whether you're an experienced performer or looking for the opportunity to perform in front of a large community audience for the first time, Carols by Candlelight offers the chance to be part of a festive celebration enjoyed by thousands each year.

This year, performers can also audition for the Carols by Candlelight vocal group, which will perform a selection of ensemble pieces during the event. Vocal group applicants should have previous choir experience or be confident singing harmonies.

Albury Mayor Kevin Mack encouraged local performers to seize the opportunity.

"Carols by Candlelight is one of the highlights of our community calendar, bringing people together to celebrate the festive season through music and performance," Mayor Mack said.

"We're fortunate to have an incredible depth of local talent across our region, and this is a great opportunity for performers of all ages to be part of a much-loved community event.

"Whether you're returning to the stage or auditioning for the first time, we'd love to see local performers put themselves forward and help make this year's Carols by Candlelight another memorable celebration."

Applications close on Monday 31 August.
