Changes to supplying to Council

Wednesday 12 February 2020
Bidding for work with Council is set to be simplified with recent changes to the NSW Local Government Act.

Working with Council is set to be simplified with recent changes to the NSW Local Government Act regarding procurement. This will make it possible for councils to purchase goods and services up to $250,000 without going to tender. AlburyCity intends to increase opportunities for suppliers by advertising Request for Quotes (RFQ) between $150,000 and $250,000, a more efficient process for both Council and suppliers.

This is good news for small business in particular, with more opportunities to win work with Council. It will be easier to quote, saving time and money when compared with going through a formal tender process.

AlburyCity RFQs in the $150,000 to $250,000 range will be promoted via our website, Tenderlink and the Border Mail as a minimum.
