Exhibition probes sleeping mind

Too busy to sleep? A new exhibition at MAMA delves into the politics of sleep and what our brain really gets up to when we’re asleep.

Zzzzz: Sleep, Somnambulism, Madness features artworks by a man who can only make art while he’s asleep, a dress made from 2000 sleeping tablet prescriptions, a bed lit up by the electromagnetic fields generated by a dreaming brain, and a ground breaking video work by Andy Warhol.

The exhibition is laid out like darkened bedrooms, with little nap zones for our visitors to enjoy.

Zzzzz: Sleep, Somnambulism, Madness has been developed and presented in partnership with Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne.
