Dive in at Albury Swim Centre
Albury Swim Centre has reopened and Lavington Swim Centre will reopen on Tuesday 4 October.
Both centres are undergoing improvements. In coming weeks, Albury Swim Centre will receive two new timber table and chair settings and a new stairwell for the waterslide.
Lavington Swim Centre will also receive a new playground, new garden beds and a new pool filter.
Season tickets are available at both swim centres.
AlburyCity Mayor Henk van de Ven said there had been much talk in the community about a possible indoor aquatics facility for Albury’s future, but that if any such facility was to happen it would be at least five years away.
“It’s spring now, summer is on the way and we have two great outdoor swim centres in Albury and Lavington that I encourage everyone to make great use of in the coming months,” Cr van de Ven said.
“These pools are a great resource for our community and a great reason to get out and get active.”
Albury Swim Centre, off Wodonga Place, opposite Hovell Tree Park, has an eight-lane 50m heated pool, six lane 25m heated pool, a babies' pool with covered area, waterslide and a BBQ area.
Lavington Swim Centre, in Moore St, has a seven lane 50m heated pool, a six lane 25m lane pool, a babies' pool with covered area, a diving pool, BBQ area and kiosk serving espresso coffee, sandwiches, hot food, drinks and snacks.
