This project will consolidate the existing 10-kilometre-long Yindyamarra Sculpture walk into a five kilometre figure of eight.
The Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk features a series of stunning contemporary Aboriginal sculptures lining the Wagirra Trail from Kremur Street to Wonga Wetlands. Eleven sculptures created by local Aboriginal artists have been installed along the trail.
This project will consolidate the existing 10-kilometre-long Yindyamarra Sculpture walk into a five kilometre figure of eight, which will provide better options for expansion and provide better access points for visitors. The two loops will provide a better user experience as the entire walk will be less than five kilometres rather than the existing ten kilometre linear track (Kremur Street to Wonga Wetlands).
Additional funding (RGETF) has provided the opportunity to commission five additional Aboriginal Artworks along the Murray River.
The proposed realignment of the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk will create a consolidated and independent node on the Wagirra Trail that will be walkable in just over one hour making it ideal for school groups and all abilities groups to tackle in whole or over two visits.
