Public Toilet Strategy

Following extensive public consultation in 2020, we’re embarking on a major program to replace or upgrade some of the city’s public toilet facilities, with funding support from the Federal Government.

Following extensive public consultation in 2020, we’re embarking on a major program to replace or upgrade some of the city’s public toilet facilities, with funding support from the Federal Government.

As part of the works, we’ll demolish the toilet at Hovell Tree Park and replace it with a modern facility that will meet the needs of the many visitors to the park and nearby Wood Fired Pizza Oven.

The public toilets at Lake Hume Tourist Park were identified last year as being in need of modernization, and a new toilet is to be built closer to the lake shoreline.

At Foresters Grove, the toilet block will also be demolished and replaced with more modern facilities incorporating the city’s first fully accessible Changing Places public toilets.

And new toilets will be built alongside the Thurgoona bike path and close to Thurgoona Drive, providing walkers, cyclists and drivers with a new public toilet and shelter in this rapidly-growing area.
