We’re working to deliver major improvements to our footpath and bike trail network to improve infrastructure and transport options and encourage a more healthy and active community with a decrease in our greenhouse emissions.
The works will include:
- $150,000 for an extension of the Urana Road footpath to connect with the path at the Pearsall Street intersection
- $200,000 for the Albury CBD Bike Loop to connect with existing bike paths and develop new on-road lanes to encourage more cyclists to ride into the city centre, developing a healthier community and reducing transport pressures in the city centre
- $600,000 for the standard footpath program to build 3.2 km of new paths across the city, including the expansion of the network in established residential areas
- $600,000 for the Cycleways and Active Transport program to improve connectivity across the city and encourage people to take more short trips on foot
- $100,000 for accessibility improvements to provide safe and effective pedestrian services to those with mobility and/or vision impairments, and
- $480,000 to connect the existing path network from Norris Park to the Fiveways
- $218,000 Asset Renewal
