We’re continuing to develop Albury as a leader in sustainability through ongoing audits.
We’re continuing to develop Albury as a leader in sustainability through ongoing audits across council facilities to identify energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. One project identified is the replacement of the entrance and carpark lights at the Albury Airport, this will achieve an estimate saving of 20,000kWh per annum and 1.64t CO2t per annum. The lighting at the Airport Carpark provides safe access by airport travellers to their cars on late/ delayed flights and is a vital deterrence to night-time vandalism of cars.
Along with innovations such as the introduction of LED street lighting, these projects are designed to reduce costs to ratepayers while also minimising the city’s ecological footprint.
