The Little Wave Book Review by Violet, Albury North Public School
After reading Pip Harry’s latest book – The Little Wave - my perspective on going to the beach is forever changed. I used to think that going to the beach was not at all special but now it is a treat. I also relate to the characters in different ways. Jack wants to be a cricket star; I wish to be a famous dancer. Lottie likes collecting facts about bugs; I like collecting facts and getting feedback. Finally, Noah, his best mate, pushes him around. Well, I think that there is always someone in every school who does that.
This book has also made me much more grateful and shown me that not everyone is as lucky as me, so I must agree with Children’s Books Daily that ‘Pip Harry’s words are imbued with hope and the message that falling down does not mean that you never get back up.’ I would say that this book should be aged at grade 7 & 8 students because of the message it sends. I hope this is the winning book: I rate it 5 stars.
