Keeping our city moving
More than $15M will be spent on maintaining and improving the city’s roads and drains over the next 12 months as well as planning for new roads in our growth corridor.
The annual maintenance and rehabilitation program will receive an injection of $4.25M while a further $2M will be spent on reconstructing Knoble Road and parts of Caroline Avenue, Vickers Road and Wandoo Crescent.
Other major roads projects include:
|Wagga Road revitalisation||$3M||Upgrade Wagga Road between Kaylock Rd and Barlow Street. The works which have been partly grant funded will include installation of medians, landscaping and resurfacing.|
|Thurgoona Drive/Elizabeth Mitchell Drive intersection||$2.6M|
The roundabout at this busy intersection will be removed and replaced with traffic lights and there’ll be improvements for pedestrians as well as cyclists with a dedicated bike lane.
|Kerr Road reconstruction - Stage 6||$2M||This next stage will see the upgrading of Kerr Road to Yarrabee Drive and the construction of a roundabout at the intersection with Thurgoona Drive.|
|Thurgoona Link Roads||$1.2M||Investigation, survey and design work for the proposed new Thurgoona Link Roads. The road will eventually link Thurgoona to Davey Road via a new road from Elizabeth Mitchell Drive and another from Kerr Road to Elizabeth Mitchell Drive which will intersect Table Top Road.|
|CBD Bike Loop||$100K||The CBD bike loop will enable greater access and safety for cyclists riding in and around the city centre.|
