Flags provide an important vehicle for people to express identity and pride and tell a story though colours, badges and symbols.
Officially recognised flags are displayed in key civic locations such as civic buildings and open space such as town halls, embassies, monuments, memorials or locations of high importance.
The Civic Flag Display Protocol is designed to provide guidance to determine future locations for civic flag display to be incorporated into future works programs, consider any changes to current civic flag locations and to assess requests for temporary display of flags, symbols and ensigns as required by external parties.
