Mungabareena Aboriginal Place Management Plan
The Mungabareena Aboriginal Place Management Plan is now on public exhibition and we're seeking final comments from the community.
Mungabareena has been declared an Aboriginal Place under the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. To protect and conserve the cultural values of this Aboriginal Place, we've developed the Mungabareena Aboriginal Place Management Plan.
The aims of this plan are to:
- promote long-term protection of the cultural values of the Mungabareena Aboriginal Place
- enable Aboriginal communities to manage the cultural values of areas that hold special significance for them
- enable Aboriginal communities to discuss issues and reach agreements with land holders about site protection
- improve regulatory and management outcomes for communities
The Mungabareena Aboriginal Place Management Plan was endorsed by Council on Monday 22 July 2019 and is now on public exhibition. You can view a copy of the plan by clicking the link below. We've also got copies available to view at our Kiewa Street offices, LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library.
Comments will be received until 5.00pm Monday 26 August 2019 and should be addressed to Steven Onley, PO Box 323 Albury NSW 2640 or via email.
