Cities Power Partnership
AlburyCity is a member of the Cities Power Partnership, a national program supporting councils to reduce emissions and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
Reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency are part of AlburyCity's commitment to a more sustainable future. Towards Albury 2050 identifies renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable growth as important priorities for our community.
AlburyCity joined the Cities Power Partnership (CPP) in 2017, committing to five actions covering renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport and community energy.
Our five Cities Power Partnership pledges
Support sustainable behaviour
Encourage Council staff, residents and businesses to make more energy-efficient and sustainable transport choices.
Improve energy efficiency
Adopt best-practice energy efficiency measures across Council buildings and support community facilities to do the same.
Increase renewable energy
Increase the use of renewable energy across Council operations, including solar and renewable electricity.
Support community renewable energy
Support opportunities for residents and community groups to participate in renewable energy projects.
Encourage sustainable transport
Support greater use of public transport, walking and cycling through transport planning and design.
Our progress
Our Energy Savings Action Plan sets out projects to improve energy efficiency, increase renewable energy and reduce energy use across Council facilities.
