Kevin was born and bred in the Border region and has lived in Albury, Wangaratta and Corryong. He is married to Jill and they have four children.
Kevin is a former Victoria Police officer of 41 years, during which time he focused on specialised interests in helping families and young people – passions he has carried over into his career as a councillor.
He was elected to council in 2012 and is now in his seventh term as Mayor.
During his time on council, Kevin has played a leading role in developing closer and more productive ties with communities across the region. He was central in developing the Two Cities One Community partnership with Wodonga Council and is dedicated to improving the social and economic fabric of regional communities.
He is the Chair of the Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation (five years), Deputy Chair of Regional Cities New South Wales (two years) and the Chair of the ‘Evocities’ platform (five years). He is also the Chair of Regional Capitals Australia.
A keen sportsman in his youth, Kevin retains a strong interest in developing sporting and recreational opportunities for the local community, especially for young people, and he is also an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and culture in Albury-Wodonga.
