National Foresters Grove Master Plan

National Foresters Grove is located on Wagga Road, Lavington.  Council initially approved the development of the park in 1987 to recognise servants of the forestry industry. A large numbers of trees in the reserve are dedicated in honour of individuals, groups or organisations.

The National Foresters Grove Master Plan was adopted by Council in April 2009. The master plan was developed through the National Foresters Grove Committee and in consultation with forestry industry representatives, Rotary Club of North Albury, Lavington Lions Club and North East Victorian Hoo Hoo Club. Community consultation was undertaken in late 2008 in relation to the plan.

The master plan identifies developments to improve facilities for the general community. Works which have been identified include:

  • Future planting zones
  • Redeveloped main entry point
  • Additional shelters, public amenities and signage
  • Linking pathways and an additional footbridge to Melrose Park
  • Regional playground
  • Landscaping around the lagoon
