Collections and Exhibitions
The Gallery has developed strong collections based on visual artists of the region.
The collection includes pieces by Russell Drysdale (whose iconic outback battlers are depicted in harsh barren landscape) and Tracey Moffatt (photography that showcases extraordinary people in ordinary circumstances).
The exhibition program includes works of local interest as well as those on loan from private collectors and visual arts institutions.
Major touring exhibitions are sourced from state and national visual arts institutions.
In 2009 the Archibald Prize will be part of the annual exhibition program.
