Special Variation to Rate Income

In July 2011, the NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) approved AlburyCity's application for a three year special variation to rate income.

How this will affect ratepayers is outlined below:

  • $20 on the base amount for residential and farmland above the rate peg of 2.8% for 2011/2012, a further $20 on the base amount above the rate peg for 2012/2013 and a further $20 on the base amount above the rate peg for 2013/2014.
  • $268 on the base amount for business above the rate peg of 2.8% for 2011/2012, a further $268 on the base amount above the rate peg for 2012/2013 and a further $268 on the base amount above the rate peg for 2013/2014.
These additions to the base remain thereafter.

The additional income raised through the special variation will fund a range of recreational, cultural, environmental, civil and CBD projects. The projects are listed within the Long Term Financial Plan.
