New road for Hub

AlburyCity Mayor, Patricia Gould, today welcomed the NSW Government's announcement that it will fund a $1.72M sealed road from Olympic Way to the Ettamogah Intermodal Rail Hub.

"This funding will ensure we can construct a high-quality access road, suitable for B-double trucks, from the Olympic Way directly into the Intermodal Hub," Cr Gould said.

The 1.7km road, which will upgrade the existing temporary road, will enable Albury to take better advantage of its location between Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

"Having such a high-quality access road will strengthen our position as an ideally located logistics centre and make the intermodal precinct even more attractive to business," she said.

"The road represents a major step towards our vision for the Albury Industrial and Intermodal precinct."

AlburyCity is developing a Masterplan for this industrial precinct, in consultation with key landowners and other stakeholders.

Minister for Regional Development, Phil Costa, said the funding was allocated from the NSW Government's $52M Local Infrastructure Support Fund.
