Artist @ Work at the Albury Art Gallery
20 January 2010 - 14 February 2010
The waft of paint, the scratching of pencils and the clicking of computers will overtake the Albury Art Gallery with the upstairs Chamber Gallery being converted to a working studio.
Artists will be working in the gallery for two weeks so members of the public can come in and find out more about how artists work, where they get their inspiration from and why they feel the urge to create.
Meet the artist by visiting the Art Gallery between 11am - 3pm during opening hours for a chat with participating artists.
The artists participating are :
Rafaela Pandolfini, Melbourne based artist, will be exploring Albury and the surrounds and photograph/document what she sees - the people and the place. The images she takes will then be downloaded, edited, manipulated in the gallery studio.
Mary Rosengren will be working with the botanic gardens and flora of the region to develop assembly, installation and artist books.
Local artists Charlotte Teek, Miriam McConnell and Peter Milovanovic will be working within their own media of writing and performance art to abstraction and drawing.
At any one time, one of these five artists will be in the gallery working on their projects.
We encourage the public to come and meet with these artists and find out more about studio work, creative process and their art own practice.
