Stage 2 Water Restrictions
Stage 2 water restrictions do NOT apply to recycled water, grey water, rainwater, water collected from a dam or bore water obtained under a commercial licence.

Residential or Commercial Gardens and Lawns
A garden and lawns area can only be watered on alternate days (see definition of alternate day at the end of the fact sheet) using:
- A hand-held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle, at anytime time before 10.00am and after 5.00pm (the use of sprinklers attached to the end of a hose is prohibited); or
- A manually operated permanently installed irrigation system (dripper, sprinkler or microspray) between the hours of 6.00am - 8.00am and 6.00pm - 8.00pm; or
- An automatically operated permanently installed irrigation system (dripper, sprinkler or microspray) between the hours of midnight and 4.00am.
'Alternate Days' Definition
'Alternate Days' (not to be confused with 'Designated Days') is a system for defining days of water use or days upon which water use may commence, such that:
- In the case of a property with an odd street number, each odd numbered date of any month; and
- In the case of a property with an even street number or without a street number, each even numbered date of any month.

Washing Cars
A vehicle may be washed on any day before 10.00am and after 5.00pm, but only on a lawn by means of:
- A hand-held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle; or
- high pressure water cleaning device of no greater capacity than 9 litres per minute.
Note: A commercial car wash facility may be used if it is operated in accordance to a approved AlburyCity Water Conservation Plan or of the facility operates using an alternate water source to the town's water supply.
Swimming Pools (Residential and Commercial)
- Empty pools or spas with a capacity of less than 2000 litres can be filled with the town water supply but only on alternate days before 10.00am and after 5.00pm.
- Empty pools and spas with a greater capacity than 2000 litres cannot be filled with the town water supply. They must be filled with an alternate water source, such as bore or dam water. Pools and spas owners and companies must provide evidence the water has been obtained from an alternate water source.
- Pools and spas of any capacity that are at least 75% full can be topped up with the town water supply on alternate days before 10.00am and after 5.00pm.
