Year 12 Art Show 2017
When: Friday 8 December - Sunday 11 February 2018
Where: LibraryMuseum, Corner of Kiewa & Swift Streets; and MAMA, 546 Dean Street, Albury
This show celebrates the achievements of graduating art students in the Albury region. This year's exhibition has expanded to include Wodonga and Corowa high schools.
This popular annual event provides an important opportunity for the community to connect with the ideas, concerns and complex identities of contemporary young people.
For the students involved, the exhibition is a chance to revisit their work outside the classroom and curriculum environment. For many it will be the first time that their work is displayed publicly as an object of value, rather than the result of an assessment task.
The vibrant and diverse artworks were drawn from:
- Albury High School
- Corowa High School
- James Fallon High School
- Murray High School
- Scots School Albury
- Victory Lutheran College
- Wodonga Catholic College
- Wodonga Senior Secondary College
- Xavier High School
This exhibition also applauds the dedication and commitment of our local Visual Arts Teachers. For teachers and parents it is not only a time to celebrate the achievements of each student but a chance to acknowledge their contribution in the immense emotional, practical and financial support given to a Year 12 student in the midst of creating a major artwork for the HSC & VCE.
