Lost Your Pet?

Lost Your Pet?Hundreds of wandering, stray or lost pets are impounded each year and AlburyCity encourages residents to take care in ensuring the safety of their animals by making sure they are housed securely or suitably tethered or on a lead when away from your property and also that they are microchipped and registered with the council.

If your pet is microchipped, and your contact details are up to date with the Companion Animals Database, you will be contacted by phone to advise that your pet has been found and you can arrange collection.

To further assist in locating lost animals, and to re-home those that are unwanted, AlburyCity is proud to support a group of volunteers in the Albury area who are doing a wonderful job of finding homes for unwanted animals.  The following is an introduction to the Albury Dog Rescue, and also a link to their page.

If you have lost a dog, this is a great place to start...

Albury Dog Rescue

Albury Dog Rescue is a dedicated group of volunteers working to rehome unwanted pups and dogs in the Albury/Wodonga and to educate the community about responsible dog ownership.

Most of the dogs are unclaimed strays from AlburyCity's Pound or are surrendered by members of the public. At Albury Dog Rescue we believe that all pets should be desexed to prevent the continuing cycle of unwanted dogs in society. Because of this we only rehome desexed dogs.

Our volunteers play a vital role in what we do. We have wonderful foster carers who allow dogs to live with them as members of their family until they find new homes. Other volunteers form our fundraising committee and work hard to ensure that there are sufficient funds for dogs requiring additional vet work or training and to cover the costs of insurance.

Our website shows some of the dogs we currently have available for adoption but please check back regularly as they change from week to week. To view dogs currently available, please go to the Albury Dog Rescue website.
