White Balloon Day for children's safety

25 August 2016

AlburyCity will mark 10 years of supporting White Balloon Day, which is a national day to take a stand against child abuse.

Activities will be held on Friday 9 September from 10am to 2.30pm and white balloons will be released at 12.20pm in QEII Square.

All members of the community are welcome.

White Balloon Day is about creating awareness in our community that it is never OK to sexually abuse children and that children have the right to feel safe at all times.

As well as promoting services that are available to support children and families affected by abuse, activities will include live acoustic performances by Josh Quinn and the white balloons will be delivered to local businesses by students from Albury High School.

Local support agencies attending the event organised by AlburyCity include the Aboriginal Health Service, Mission Australia, Family and Community Services (NSW) and Albury Police.
